Questions About Concierge Medicine

How does Direct Patient Care Work

This innovative medical practice model addresses two major concerns in healthcare: limited access to primary care physicians and insufficient time with doctors. By restricting the number of patients, Direct Patient Care medicine ensures timely appointments and extended doctor-patient interactions. Visits start on schedule and are not rushed. To maintain a smaller patient base and provide high-quality care, the practice requires an annual membership fee. This fee covers all office visits and most in-office tests and procedures, eliminating the need for insurance billing or claim submissions. As a result, patients do not have to deal with co-pays or unexpected charges.
What happens if I need to see a specialist?

Our providers can handle most of your medical needs. If a specialist referral is necessary, we will refer you to a specialist who provides exceptional care. Our providers will stay in touch with the specialist to coordinate your care and ensure you receive the best, tailored treatment.
Who will be my provider?

Our institution is staffed by Board-Certified doctors and Board-Certified nurse practitioners with extensive experience in outpatient care. To assure that our members are cared for promptly, one of the provider will make themself available to see and care for our member patients.

Since we plan on accommodating all of our members, we have capped our membership to only 500 patients.
Can Family and Friends see a doctor?

Our Direct Primary Care (DPC) service is reserved for members ONLY. An active member can add their child for as low as $19/month.

Our clinic also accepts patients who are looking for a provider and would rather use their insurance instead of signing up for the benefits of our DPC service.

Questions About Insurance

Why should I sign up for membership if I already have insurance?

Having health insurance does not guarantee access to quality healthcare. Patients still need a trusted medical provider—a dedicated doctor who is well-trained, accessible, and able to guide them through the healthcare system. In today’s fast-paced medical environment, this level of care is difficult to achieve, which is why concierge medicine is growing in popularity. To provide exceptional personalized care and accessibility, our practice limits the number of patients. This ensures our providers are readily available when needed and can devote ample time to each patient. With a membership, you may save money over time by avoiding high-cost deductibles. Plus, you get all the benefits that come with membership.
Is it necessary to maintain a health insurance plan?

Yes, we strongly recommend that all our members maintain health insurance for emergencies, hospitalizations, specialist visits, labs, imaging, and other costs that may arise outside our facility. At Cecilia Medical Center, we have a personal agreement with each patient to provide care without the restrictions and frustrations associated with insurance companies.
Can I join if I have an HMO and need a Primary Care Provider?

If you have an HMO, a doctor in that HMO’s network must act as your Primary Care Provider (PCP) for required approvals and referrals. You can still join our Direct Primary Care membership program, but please note that our providers cannot act as your PCP for HMO purposes.
I have an PPO and I need a Primary Care Provider

If your health insurance plan is a PPO, you may join the practice. For PPO insurance purposes, our would be considered an “out of network” provider.
Please speak with our staff to confirm that we accept your insurance plan.
Can I become a member if I have Medicare?

Yes, Medicare patients are more than welcome to join our membership program.
